Chinese Yuan currency now accepted on Apple´s App Store.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

Apple is now accepting payment in the Chinese currency for purchases made via its App Store, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Customers of more than 20 Chinese banks can now make payments to their App Store account using Yuan.

Chinese customers previously had to use dual-currency credit cards to make purchases on the App Store, despite the company opening a Chinese-character App Store and retail stores in the country. The move to accept Yuan should boost downloads in the country.

Apple’s Chinese revenues rose to more than US$13 billion, 12 percent of total revenues, in its fiscal year ending in September. It was slightly more than US$3 billion for the previous year.
