LTE: 98 LTE User Devices launched

WorldWideTech & SCience. Francisco De Jesús.

Deployment of LTE systems is the main industry direction, and the major trend in 2011.

This updated report, which was researched and published by the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) on March 16, 2011 confirms that a robust support ecosystem for LTE is rapidly establishing. The research identified a total of 98 LTE User Devices launched in the market, including announcements made at the MWC and CeBit 2011 trade events.

It includes 6 Handsets from Samsung, HTC, LG & Motorola. Several  LTE  user devices  are in commercial use or announced and many more are in the pipeline.

This strong support and high level of activity is clear evidence of how the devices manufacturing sector is supporting the drive by operators to increase network capacity and ensure the very best user experience of mobile broadband services.

The report "Status of the LTE Ecosystem" lists every user device by manufacturer, model and form factor, and states the operating frequency where known (TBC indicates where details are to be confirmed). Most devices are designed to ensure ubiquitous mobile broadband coverage by supporting existing mobile network technologies - i.e. dual mode working.

The report confirms where additional modes are supported, indicating support for HSPA, HSPA+ and/or EV-DO, TD-SCDMA etc. as appropriate.
