"Each device delivers something different, with the idea that each user is an individual and wants their mobile experience to be easy and fun," JK Shin, president of Samsung's mobile communications unit, said in a statement. "With these four Samsung Galaxy smartphones we help them share the joy they have in their lives and bring their experiences to their friends and family."

Samsung's Galaxy S smartphone received a warm reception from consumers, selling more than 1 million units within six weeks of its debut in July and more than 10 million units in its first seven months on the market.

In an effort to build on that momentum, Samsung last week unveiled the Galaxy S 4G, a smartphone developed with partner T-Mobile that purports to be the fastest smartphone on the market capable of peak download speeds of 21 Mbps over the wireless carrier's HSPA+ network.

Galaxy S 4G will feature all the bells and whistles available from the Android 2.2 (Froyo) mobile operating system and a super AMOLED touchscreen display.

"With Galaxy S 4G, T-Mobile will deliver its fastest smartphone yet on America’s largest 4G network, providing rich entertainment virtually whenever and wherever consumers want," Cole Brodman, T-Mobile's chief marketing officer, said in a statement. "And with 4G data plans from $10 per month, we’re making blazing-fast 4G speeds and super smartphone experiences easily accessible to the millions who crave them."

T-Mobile's 4G network is now available in 100 metropolitan areas, reaching 200 million people through the U.S. The carrier plans to double the speed the of its 4G network in 2011 and expects these upgrades to be accessible to more than 140 million U.S. customers by year's end.

Company officials said they will divulge more specifics about the Galaxy S 4G in "the coming weeks."

All four new models will be powered by the Android 2.2 mobile operating system and come loaded with Wi-Fi connectivity and a Social Hub feature that lets users view their contacts, instant messages and email from one integrated page.

Company officials said the quartet will be heavily featured during next month's Mobile World Congress conclave in Barcelona.
